Rain, rain...don't go away!

Whew are we ever grateful for the rain we got last week!  Two huge storms came through and saved us from this drought everyone's been talking about.  We still have green grass and the tomatoes are still producing!

I'm pretty sure our apples and tomatoes will have some serious hail damage, but we're just thankful for the rain we got.  We have it so much better than some other farmers in the west.

Plum time!!!!

It's that time of year again.  The plums are ready to pick and were starting to fall off of the trees.  On Friday, me and Oliver picked a few apricots, shiro plums and the rest of the methley plums.

The 4th of July

I think I've come to the conclusion that the 4th of July is my ultimate favorite holiday.
I started out my day by working, then  I tried to create this 4th of July mix of berries.  :)

The whole family gathered at Katie and Ryan's home for a picnic.  Mark was designated the official chef.  He gave me this pose as I was snapping the picture.

Our new little star!  Tabitha was so cute!

Martha and I were picking Tabitha up and she loved it.  She stopped walking...

It was tickle time with Aunt Martha.  :)

We went fishing in the pond after eating...Ryan does not look very excited!

We put the boat out and Sarah and Daniel were brave enough to get in water tubes.

Tabitha was sad because Tamara was in the boat

 Armed, but not dangerous.  :)

What's the 4th of July without a couple sparklers??

A group picture.  Man, we can make some HORRIBLE faces!  :)

My lovely sister Lydia.  I love this picture...

That was my 4th of July in a nutshell of pictures.  After a day like that, I decided that the 4th of July is my favorite holiday...

Picnic Time

On Sunday afternoon, my family decided to go on a picnic to York.  My mom packed us a nice picnic lunch and we found a park and ate.  It was such a nice thing, because it is rare!
This is just a picture of us, setting up the food.

We were set right next to this pretty creek

After we finished out picnic, we actually went to a huge cemetery in York where nearly all of our relatives have been buried.  It was good to be able to go and reminisce about relatives.  I didn't know any of them, but I enjoyed hearing the stories.

I took a few pictures when we got back to our home.

I hope you all are having a wonderful week so far!  I know I am!

Chard and beets

A very random post: I took pictures of the swiss chard and red beets because I thought they were so pretty!!!!! :)
