Lumpia and Orchestra

The other day I babysat a church members kids.  It was so much fun!  We played candyland (which I haven't played since I was very young) and stuffed church bulletins.  I gave them piano lessons and then we went to the park.  After running around and playing all afternoon at the park, we came back and ate some pizza.  It was a great day and I had so much fun doing it.  I'm looking forward to the next time!

My orchestra is having its spring concert this Friday!  The other day, we had a 7-hour rehearsal.  It was pretty intense and long...after the day, my shoulders were soooo sore.  Anyway, it was worth it because I got to try lumpia for the first time.  It was really really good.

That's all that's been happening here lately.  I'll keep you posted on these last couple of weeks, since there are only 19 days left now!

Until later!

Recital time!

It's hard to believe that my senior friends will be gone after just 3 more weeks~

Reality kinda sunk in the other day when I went to my friends senior piano and voice recital.

5 of my senior friends.  There are only 4 music majors this year...

My friend Bekah, playing her piano piece

Me, with the best dorm supervisor ever....

I'll miss them so much next year!

Party Decorator-my new profession

This week....has been one of the busiest weeks I've ever experienced at school I believe.  There was probably a worse one last semester when I was doing a Christmas concert nearly every night with my handbell choir...but right now, I'm starting to feel a little swamped.  I had to request off work this whole week.
I'm taking a one-week interim class called "Prayer."  It's a great class and I'm so glad I'm taking it!  It goes from 9-11 every night.  And the projects aren't huge, but there's one due every day...so that on top of my regular projects given...it's a lot to juggle.  Tonight is one of my best friends senior recital.  I so wanted to go off-campus and get her something to surprise her with, but I couldn't find a ride, so I had to scratch that idea.  I'll take her out to eat one of these evenings.

A few weeks ago, Bekah and I were asked to decorate a teachers office as a welcome home.  So we did...

I did all of the streamers...and it took me a long time.  :)  Anyway, apparently, everyone loved it so much that now we've been asked to do the Pastor's office here, for his birthday.  We finished it today.  It wasn't nearly as extensive, just streamers on the door and some signs.

So....if you need a party decorator, give me a ring...I'm becoming quite the professional.  :D

Tomorrow I'm going to be babysitting nearly all day.  I'm really excited about that.  I haven't babysat in so long!  I'll hardly know what to do!  :)

Anyway, that's been my week so far.
I'll post pictures probably tomorrow or Saturday maybe.

Life in April

As a room, we're pretty addicted to Dutch Blitz

And when it's not Dutch Blitz, it's arm wrestling...

Actually, that was just a one-time thing...:)

Anyway, since the last time I posted, the weather got really nice and warm...but today, it got pretty awful again.  It's not as dusty as before, but it's bad.  One of our staff members told us that we've only gotten 1 inch of rain in Lancaster, in the past year.  That's pretty bad...they need rain badly.  When the wind rips through, the dust and sand is so loose, it just flies.  It makes for a bad hair day, and a bad everything day really.  Dust in your mouth, ears, nose, hair...and in the room too.  It's covering our windowsill, even though the window is closed!
  So that's the weather here.

As for life, it's going great!  This week is going to be busy with Neighborhood Impact, and I'll be babysitting too.  I'm really excited about it!

That's it for now.  I checked the book The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle out of the library, and since I haven't read it in years, I'm kind of hooked.

Until later!

Dusty Lancaster....

My college motto:  Don't bother doing your hair...it's going to get ruined anyway.  :)  For today, that is certainly true!  Wow...gusts of wind up to 70 mph?  It's pretty crazy here...

Obviously, there's a huge dust storm coming through.  There is dust EVERYWHERE.  I can taste it in my mouth...it was in my food, it's all over the tile floors of the Revels building.

I feel kind of bad for blue crew, the maintenance crew here....wow.

I borrowed some of these photos from friends...:)

Yep, so that's the kind of day I'm having!  very blustery!  :D

Birthday Wishes

Happy Birthday to my oldest sister!  :)

It's pretty crazy how time has flown by...I feel like not too long ago, we were playing "school" and Katie was my teacher.  :)  Now she's married and runs a farm with her husband, and I'm a junior in college.

It's crazy alright....

Happy Birthday Katie!  :D
