Corn Festival fun

Well, my last weekend at home I was able to spend with a friend.  We went to the Shippensburg Corn Festival which was cool.  I haven't been there in years. 

 

 

There were soooo many vendors and we weren't able to actually stop and look at them all because of lack of time.  But it was still fun to see.

 

We got something to eat and ate it at the park.  She insisted that I couldn't put up a picture of her on my blog, but I'm a brat, so I'm doing it anyway.  :D

Want some tomatoes?

We've been picking tons of tomatoes lately and we have to sort them every day now, with the amount we've accumulated. 

We do mostly heirloom tomatoes, like this Pineapple.

I thought this was cool.  From left to right, a plum, a peach tomato and a peach.  I posted this picture on facebook and had our CSA's guess what each of them was.  

This is one of the funniest shaped tomatoes I've ever seen.  It's called a Genovese and they grow looking strange and funny. 

Well, that's pretty much what's been going on here lately.  I'm also beginning to think about packing to go back to school....it's almost that time again...



Calf-feeding

Take a look at the new calf we have!  :)  He's so cute...he's a lineback and was pretty tiny when we got him up at auction.  I just had to get a picture with him. 

Swim Reunion

When my mom was in high school, she was a member of the YWCA's synchronized swim team.  This year marked the 40th (I think) year of the team, so there was a reunion.  I acted as chauffeur and drove her to the picnic and hung out, meeting some of her old friends on the team. 

The reunion was held at the old YWCA campsite.  It was soooo beautiful back in the woods and away from traffic and the hustle-bustle of normality. 

I loved this old bridge and just had to take a picture of it.

And, that's it for now!  Boring post, but it was a nice time for me and my mom.  The food at the reunion was amazing!  :D  Also, I got to see my mom with her friends from high school and they were able to reminisce a little about their younger days.  It was nice to see.

Tomatoes and Homer

It's that season again!  Tomato time...

And then Homer and me did a photoshoot.  Homer didn't want to cooperate though, so I finally let him go with some mediocre pictures.  :D
