Poppy Season in Lancaster!

Well, the CA poppy festival was this past weekend. In honor of California's state flower, I went to the poppy reserve. Unfortunately, there actually weren't very many poppies out. I think they bloomed earlier than normal this year.

I was with Dan, and he saw a man with a camera walking up one of the paths. Dan yelled out "Hey, do you want to take a picture of us?" And the man turned around...wouldn't you know it...he was a reporter! He said that yes, he would love to take a picture of us. So here we are, in the Los Angeles Times, posing for a picture.

I was sooooo embarrassed at first, but now looking back, it was fun to get in the paper haha.
I'm sorry I haven't posted much lately. My laptop completely died on me, so I have been forced to use my iPad. And while I love taking pictures with it, it is hard to upload them to my blog. So I shall attempt to do better these next week with pictures and posts! Until later!

Shady Maple Smorgasboard

When I went home to Pennsylvania for my sisters wedding, I forgot to post the pictures of a w days after the wedding.  I went with Martha, Daniel and my grandparents to Shady Maple Smorgasboard for Daniels birthday. We met up with Sarah and Billy there in Lancaster. It was a fun time!

Other than a few funny pictures, I didn't take many on my iPad :( I've been really awful lately about taking pictures with my iPad.

Anyway, this is short, but it was a fun time.  I'll try to take more pictures!!!

He is Risen!

Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Yesterday evening, I attended the production of Glorious Day here at LBC.  It was pretty amazing! This morning I will also attend a sunrise service at 6 as well as my extension church
It's going to be a great day!

Something that I've thought of recently and was just reminded of;

So many places are famous and often-visited because of the tomb of a person, or their burial spot.

The Great Pyramids of Egypt are visited because they once held the mummified remains of Egyptian Pharaohs.
Medina, Saudi Arabia is a well-visited spot.  It is where Muhammad's remains are to this day.

In Sri Lanka, a temple is designated just to hold the last tooth remaining from Buddha's mouth!

These are places that are visited, where ceremonies and prayers and rituals are kept by different religions of the world.
But the thing that I love MOST is that there is not a burial site or grave where Jesus is today.  There is no temple anywhere that hold Jesus' tooth, or His bones!

Every year, many people visit the Garden Tomb just outside of Old Jerusalem, and it is visited simply because of what CANNOT be seen.  I won't belabor the point, though I easily could :)

He is RISEN; He is risen indeed!!!!
