Fall Festival

Happy Autumn, friends!  Our autumn has been fun-filled and exciting thus far.  One of our highlights was our church Fall Festival.  We had a lot of fun preparing for it and setting it up.  Dan made an obstacle course with the help of Gwendolyn.

We picked watermelon from our garden for snacks and for the watermelon seed-spitting contest.

The forecast called for rain the day of our event, but we prayed all week that it would be clear of rain and it was!! The sun wasn't out and bright, but it wasn't raining, so we were happy!

We had a Guess how many game with m+m's, skittles, and gummy worms.

The obstacle course, which was a big hit!

Nail driving

A three- legged race

Apple bobbing

 And a photo booth

We had a missionary family with us that weekend as well, so that was nice.

We had a hay ride, but couldn't find a tractor to use, so we used a truck.  It worked just fine!

Dan and Gwendolyn tried the 3 legged race...

We also had a ring toss, basketball shoot and bowling too.

And of course, preaching, food, and popcorn, and checkers.  It was a nice time, and our best-attended fall event so far.  We were thankful for all the people who helped out!

Keep checking back for my next post about our fall adventures!

Guess What?

Guess WHAT??
Our Granville house is finished!  Actually, Dan finished it in July...

I made Dan pose with the for sale sign...

It was listed in July, we had an offer in 5 days, we accepted it, and just found out that the buyers were approved for their loan.  So it's almost officially sold.  The sale is pending.
We're very excited.  It was a long hard road for Dan because it seemed like each time he started a "small" project, it ended up being much more extensive than we'd originally thought it would be.

This is the upstairs bathroom.

The smallest bedroom.

The bedroom that used to have stickers all over the walls...

The biggest bedroom...originally brown walls.

And the bedroom that used to have Orange, Pink and purple stripes painted on the walls.

Upstairs hallway

This is the addition entertainment/family room with the bar.

Mudroom/new laundry room Dan made

Downstairs bathroom sans lovetub.  With an ACTUAL shower/tub instead.  :)

The kitchen

Formal dining room.

Front living room.

Garage and patio area

If you care to see the before pictures, check here, here, and here.

Of course, there are more posts than that, but those are the first few.
We're very happy to be finished with this house.  It's now a beautifully restored Victorian home, and I'm so proud of my husband for seeing it through and doing it the right way.
I can say again, it's a "Fixer upper no more!"

Stay tuned for more life updates!

Family Photos on the Lake

Hello friends!  I am very behind on posting on my blog (what else is knew, right??)...so I am finally posting these family photos we had taken back in JUNE.  Yes, June.  So in the 2 1/2 months that have gone by, our children have grown a lot, and these are outdated.  But hey, I figured I would share them anyway.

We went to Lake George to take these.  The battlefield there was a nice place and of course, it was nice to get the lake in the background in some photos.

As always, Gwendolyn was being a little ham.  She did great with the candid pictures.  Most of the posed ones though, she struggled with.  :)

Lucinda and Dan

It was during my mother-in-law's visit that we had these taken.  I thought it would be nice to get a few shots of Gwen and Lucie with their mimi.

It didn't take Gwen long to realize in this pose that she could have a little fun with Dan's hair!

Oh, and then mine!

It was a fun time and we got several good memories to keep from it.  Hope you all are doing well!  I'm going to try to post again tomorrow.  The best time to get on my laptop is when both children are napping...which is very rare!  Unless it's nighttime...and let's be honest...when both children are in bed, I'm also more than ready to fall asleep myself.

So hopefully, you'll see another post tomorrow...or whenever I have both children napping and all my other duties finished.
