My Thoughts and life here and now

Hello friends and readers!
So much can change in just the matter of a few weeks, can't it?  We can go from one week going about our weeks as if nothing in the world is going to change, and then realizing that the world as we know is has gone completely crazy.
I don't know how your state is, but here, the panic, frenzy, and fear is real amongst so many.  I've taken a back seat to the social media posts I see all week, but after seeing all 50 (or so) surrounding schools closing for a month, the restaurants closing, and grocery stores not having toilet paper, wipes, soap or meat of any kind in stock...it can start to get to you a little.  Yesterday I was reminded though that God has not given us (Christians) the spirit of fear, but of POWER, of LOVE, and of a SOUND MIND.  The world is not acting in power, love and certainly not with a sound mind in regards to the spread of this pandemic, the coronavirus.
I continue to pray for those who are ill with it, those in quarantine, and those who are grieving loved ones lost to it.

That being said, I refuse to give in to the panic striking our country.
Thanks to the two road kill Dan picked up (deer) last year, we have venison in the freezer and enough blended frozen banana and shredded zucchini to last us awhile.  :)

We're being safe, continuning to wash our hands like we have done before there ever was a virus, and are still living our lives.

On to the pictures for this post.
The other week I mentioned that we were searching for furniture for our rental.  We came across a lady who was selling a whole garage full of furniture for very cheap.  We picked out what we liked and I really liked this bed.  I've always loved beds with posts.  Ours had a large headboard and posts, but we decided to try switching frames.  This frame came to stay at our house and ours went to the rental.  So far, I like it.  It has drawers in the bottom of it.

Also, in our search, I came across a lady on craigslist who was giving away this chair for free because a family member had sat in it and completely busted the back off of it.  Some internal piece of wood was broken in the chair.  I brought it home, Dan took it apart and fixed it.  So now we have a chair that somehow, perfectly matches the walls of our room (not easy to match!).

Gwendolyn and Lucie are growing fast.  Lucie figured out how to walk with the walker and to climb up the stairs.  She's very mobile.  Together, they love to climb in the kitchen cupboards and play with the canned goods and pots and pans.

Smoothie time.

And playing in the laundry basket

Gwendolyn and I, playing in the snow.

While perusing our local antique store, I saw that outside there was a collection of old trunks.  I'm a old trunk lover, so I asked the owner how much they were.  The lowest one was $35.  I was surprised at myself when I found myself haggling a little bit and said that I would take two IF he gave them to me for $30 for both.  He said "$35 and we have ourselves a deal."
So I have two new trunks.  One of them has a hole in the front which Dan says he can fix.  This one, though missing the straps (of course) and the clasp and handles, is intact.  Since Dan has been so busy working for some clients, I am taking on the job of bringing this one back to life.  I'll be sure to take an "after" photo when I finish it.

That's it for now!  Stay safe you guys!  Don't give in to the panic and fear that our society without God is experiencing.  God knows everything that's happening and He is still in control.  Nothing is out of His power.

Life Happenings and family visits

Sorry it has been so long since I posted! Prepare yourselves for a lot of photos!  It'll take me a few posts to catch up on what we've been doing and the photos from our adventures.

Four weeks ago, my mother-in-law came to visit us for 10 days!  It was so nice to have her with  us, and she helped out tremendously with changing diapers, weeding the garden, and even letting me catch a nap here and there when I desperately needed one.  When she came, Lucinda still was waking up all night and I was hardly getting sleep.  Thankfully, that has changed!  She now wakes up once.

Gwen very much enjoyed spending time with Mimi.

One of the days she was here, we made a day trip to the original Vermont Country Store.  We enjoyed that.  I love looking around at all of the fun toys and games they have there...not to mention sampling all of their yummy fudge, cheese, and jams.  I bought myself a few candies too.
Gwendolyn had fun walking up and down their ramps and swinging on the John Deere tire swing.

One of the employees showed us the antique polyphone they have on display.

Another day while Mimi was here, we drove up to Ticonderoga.  I've been wanting to go there for awhile, we just never got the chance.  We didn't actually go into the Fort there, since we only had a few hours.  For the price of the admission into the fort, it would make sense to plan to spend almost all day in it.
We went to two museums and looked around, and walked down by the dam and park.

Gwen thought this dinosaur was a doggie.

And I'll just include a few photos of the girls...

Gwendolyn loves shoes...she goes around trying on everyone's shoes!  Even Dan's!

Dan, teaching Gwen how to pull weeds.

Our garden is doing so well!  The tomatoes are green, kale is huge, I've been picking zucchini each day...
But we let the weeds get too big.  So each morning I wake up as soon as the sun is out (about 5am) and weed for an hour before the children wake up.  It's been making me feel so accomplished!  That's what we've been up to!
Our Vacation Bible School is this next Sunday-Wednesday, so we're preparing for that.  Also, Dan's birthday was Thursday, so we went to eat for that.  I threw him a surprise birthday party on the Saturday before his birthday.  I think he was mostly surprised.  😄😄😄

NEW NEWS

Well, I've been neglecting my blog.  The biggest news is that I am now married!  It's so hard to believe.

Since I hadn't posted on here before the wedding, I'll try to catch you all up in a few posts.

So many things have happened.  First of all, on April 30th, I married Daniel, my amazing husband.  I loved every moment of planning the wedding, making decorations and even paying for things for it.  But nothing could beat actually BEING in my wedding.  It was the magical day I've always dreamed of.  The only part I would re-do was when Dan "accidently" pushed the piece of cake into my nose at our reception.

Our amazing photographer captured some truly wonderful shots and we've loved looking through them.  I'll include some of them in this post.
My wonderful sister and brother in law paid for a limousine to take us from our wedding to the reception, which was held at Shady Maple Smorgasbord.  It was a wonderful wedding gift and we love some of the pictures that came from it!

Some of these may be out of order and such, but at least my blog viewers can see part of this wonderful day of my life!

I remember always thinking that when I got married, I would have the traditional rice thrown as we would leave the reception.  However, the place where I wanted to have our reception does not allow rice-throwing due to the massive amount of cleanup.  Bubbles were my last choice, but they were the one that was accepted at the reception.  I'm glad now, because I love how the pictures turned out.  Plus, I didn't spend the rest of the day picking rice out of my ears and vacuuming rice up off of our truck seats.

After the ceremony, the limousine driver took us to Poole Forge park, where we had our "after-wedding" photos taken.  It is a small, but beautiful place with historic buildings and a covered bridge.

I was so happy that my whole family was able to come to my wedding, and be a part of it as well.  My dad was able to perform the ceremony, my sisters were all bridesmaids, my brother was a groomsman, and my niece was a flower girl.
Dan mentioned to me that he's always wanted to sing as a couple at his wedding, so we made it work!  He picked out the song, and we learned it by singing it three times a day each day.  As it was, I kept forgetting the words to my verse!  I'm just glad that I got it right on our wedding day.

Since we were having a morning wedding, we took group pictures before the wedding at 9AM.  It turned out to be a beautiful, cloudy day (apparently, a perfect day for taking pictures).

We also took "first look" photos.

Like I've said previously, this post is WAY late (nearly 7 months late), so after this post, I'll do my best to slowly catch up on my life currently.
Until I post again, enjoy the wedding photos!
