Gardens, Markets, and news

Hmm..seems like its been awhile. Well, markets have started, we've gone to each one except Westminster which doesn't start until June. As far as picking produce goes, we keep fairly busy picking the Rhubarb, spring onions, asparagus, and lettuce mixes (IE lettuce, arugula, collards, kale, and some other weird greens. :-))
These two pictures were taken the other day. Lydia and I were goofing around...:-)

Mark actually took this picture the other week while we were sitting on the deck and he was SUPPOSED to be writing thank-you cards with Lydia for wedding presents. :-D

This (quite obviously) is the orchard/gardens. I think that's Oliver out getting ready to water the upper garden...and in the back you can see my Dad spraying the orchard...
ack, this picture is SO environmentally friendly...NOT REALLY. :D

The Garden and red raspberries in the back

Annnnnnnd, that's it for now! We're all doing pretty good for the first week of markets. NOW, to start the SECOND! :-)
Oh, and the countdown is going, 11 DAYS UNTIL LYDIA AND MARK'S WEDDING!!!!
YAY!!!

Does your whole family go to the markets? Well, I guess that would be you and your parents correct?

Congratulations to Lydia and Mark!!

Lovely pictures and yard/garden!!

I have a question. How on earth do you keep weeds and grass out of your raspberries? Do you weed them all by hand?

Sarah: We take turns going to markets. Like, MY markets are Tuesdays and Saturdays, both with my dad. My brother does Thursdays and Saturdays. He might do Tuesdays sometimes too. :-D
To the Krahns: We put down mulch. Or I guess its technically just wood chips. And then we spray weed killer. At the beginning of the year we clean everything out...(weeding)
:-D
