Vacation Bible School Week

My church had VBS last week and it went sooo well!  It's always a slightly stressful week trying to have everything just right and going out knocking on doors every night inviting kids to church.  But every year without fail, all the work pays off and then some.

This is me, the first night, as a cowgirl.  :)  Our Bible school theme was Pioneers and Prairie Dogs.

This is the teen class on the first night.

This was taken on the second night.  This is the age group from 6-12.

I was in charge of what went on on stage during the first half hour.  This is a picture of me explaining who the offering was going to.  We are sending all of the pennies and nickels to Tibet to our Missionaries.

This is me, talking with the team captains before the kids came to give their pennies.

Mr. Dale and Timmy, pumping up their team!

Oliver and Mr. Dan, doing the same.

Me, talking with the puppet

The boys team, playing a game outside.

Well, that's just about it.  I wasn't able to get many pictures since I was working onstage, but just believe me when I say "It was AWESOME!"

Until next year...:)

Cookout at Grandma's

Sunday we took a break from our hectic lives and all went to Grandma's house for a cookout.  It was a nice relaxing time for everyone and even my Uncle, Aunt and Cousin came!

Of course, Tabitha was the center of everyone's attention!

Anyway, this is a short post.  I had a nice time with family and spoiling Tabitha.  Next stop: the 4th of July picnic! :)

Babysitting Tabitha...

I had such a wonderful time on Friday babysitting my niece Tabitha.  My brother and sister-in-law were busy and I readily volunteered to look after her.

I first took Tabitha to walmart to get a few things.  I'm teaching her to shop like a pro!

After our shopping spree, we went home to work on the farm.  Tabitha helped me put sugar snap peas into pint boxes.  She was such a big helper!

Once Tabitha discovered where the blueberries were, they started disappearing fast! Eventually, we had to cover them...I was afraid she would get sick on blueberries.  :)

I had a great time

Butchering time...

It's butchering time here.  We sent two of our hogs to the shop last wednesday.

I was excited about it, but Oliver and Daddy don't seem to be from the picture... They knew it would be a messy job (and it was).

Enough for now.  My church is having VBS this week, so we've been running non-stop!  Til' later!

Happy Fathers Day!

Happy Fathers Day to the best daddy I could ever have asked for.
My Dad has always worked hard and povided for me, he's always done all he could to make me happy.
My Daddy has been a wonderful earthly example of what my heavenly Father is.

I love you Daddy!

It's a BOY!

I am SOOOOOO excited!  I'm going to be an aunt again!  Lydia and Mark are having a baby and I was able to go to one of her ultrasounds with her last wednesday.

Just look at that little guy...

He was verrry hyper during the ultrasound and wouldn't stay still.  He was so cute and I can't wait for him to be born in November.

I think this picture is absolutely adorable.  Life is an amazing thing...

I always take as many pictures as I can, so I told Lydia she had to hold her stomach in this one...

In the waiting room...

I'm SO EXCITED TO BE AN AUNT!!!!  I won't say the name Mark and Lydia have chosen yet.  I want that to be a surprise in November.

I'm a happy camper right about now.  :D

Some new farm hands...

The baby peeps arrived two weeks ago and Oliver and me took this very cute video of them.  I don't think they realize that they were being videoed.
At any rate, they are extremely cute and they seem to get bigger and bigger each time I go see them.

Our turkeys arrived a week later, so I took this picture with one of them.

It's hard to believe that in just 10 weeks, they will be butchered!  Time flies...when your not a turkey or chicken... :D

Meet the new Meteorologist!

Forget checking the weather online to see if it'll rain!  We have a new budding meteorologist in the Keckler family.

Meet Homer~~~~

I recently found out that whenever it is getting ready to rain, Homer will tell me.  He will NOT LEAVE MY SIDE when it's getting ready to rain.

The other day I was picking peas for about an hour when Homer came out, panting.  He plopped down beside me and would NOT leave.  Even though it was beautiful and sunny out, I knew it would probably soon rain.  I was able to get back to the house in time to close the shed up and the house windows RIGHT before it started POURING.

If only Homer were a human...he would make a boatload of cash from being a meteorologist...and hey, he'd always be right too!
