Grades

Whew, I have been working at McDonalds a lot this week!  I still work today, tomorrow and Saturday as well.  :)
because of my busy work schedule, I've been working ahead as much as possible in my music homework.

I got this grade back the other day.  It made me so happy!

It's a good day when you get a good grade on your music theory homework! :D  :D

My college life...

I feel like, though I've been posting on here, I haven't been saying much.  Just ranting and telling you all about my pet-peeves.  :)  I decided that I would make this post strictly about what I've been up to.

This semester I started with 17 credits in school, but dropped one class since it was not needed for my major.  So I now have 15 credits I am taking.  Compared to the 21 I took last semester, I figured this would be a cake-walk.  The hard thing about those 15 credits is that eight out of my ten classes are music classes.  Music classes=harder than any other classes I could take.  :)  and since Music is my major, I must get good grades on all of those classes.
I think 15 is still better than 21, but this semester my classes are much more difficult.  I'm enjoying the challenge though.
The classes I am taking are Music Theory 4, Music Theory Lab 4, Piano Pedagogy, Christian Womanhood, Private Piano lessons, Performance Class, Music Seminar, Choral Conducting, OT Judges, Philosophy of Music
Since I got back to California, I've been on the schedule at work about 4 days a week!  So my typical work week is 20-25 hours.

I'm still in the handbell group-we had our first practice on Wednesday: I know I already like the songs we'll be playing.  I'm in the orchestra as well.  I told the conductor that I wouldn't be able to make it to many practices since I work on Thursdays and Fridays, but he said he would still like for me to be a part of the orchestra.  So that is fun!

Those things combined manage to keep me out of trouble and keep me busy...:)

That's about it!  Next time I post, I'll try to post something more interesting.  :)

Post-Valentines Day Feelings

Being in a college where many of the students are at the very least, hoping to be married someday, Valentine's Day is a big event.  Nearly as big as a basketball game or something.

Living in a dorm full of girls, is interesting to say the least.  Many of them have boyfriends/fiances, and if so; you can be sure that we know every last thing about them.
Many of the girls though, are single and not dating for various reasons.  On Valentine's Day, it is easy for these girls to be "happy" in their singlehood...after all, there are all the jokes about single-awareness day.  It's easy to feel like you're just part of the single group.

The day after Valentine's Day though...(or just any day in general) is another story though.
I hear often "I'm just waiting for the right guy to come along..."

Warning, warning: I am about to go on a rant for a couple minutes.   :)

I feel like asking over and over again "Why are you sitting around waiting for the "right guy" to come along?"
1. Who ever said that it's God's will for EVERYONE to get married?
-you are assuming that you will get married.  Not only could you be setting yourself up for disappointment, but it may not be what God wants for your life.

2. (I've heard this over and over) Why don't you focus on being the right one? Instead of waiting for the 'right one'?
-If you met someone special tomorrow, are you ready to get married?  Are you mature enough for that?  Here's a clue: if you can't turn in projects on time and can't seem to find time for things like homework, you're probably not ready for a relationship, much less marriage.

Like I said, this is one giant rant and ramble, but I've been thinking these thoughts now since college started.  I'm surrounded by these girls 24/7 and every time I hear the "I'm waiting for the right guy to come along," I want to send them the link to this page.  :)

Those are the thoughts I had the day after Valentine's Day.  :)

Valentines Day

It's that time of year again...

Everyone's in LOVE.  :D

I love what the great Plato said about love: "Love is a grave mental disease."

haha, but in all honesty, I wish all of you a nice day with your chocolates and flowers.  :)  I will be celebrating the day by making mcchickens and nuggets.
However, I am wearing pink to celebrate the occasion.  It's one step in the right direction.  :)

Plugging away...

Wow, it seems like forever since I last wrote on here.

Things in this semester have been going smoothly.  So far, I've worked about 25 hours at my job and I've turned in three projects already.  So things are going well.

I have been horrible about taking pictures this semester, but I'll get on that soon.  :)

The other day, I was going through some old family wedding pictures (I guess, they're not OLD...it just seems like a long time ago).  I found these three photos of me in my sisters' weddings.

Time flies...that's for sure....:)

Well, I'll try to better about writing more often on here.  I've got my countdown going for home.  Only 94 days left!  :)
