A random post...

Hey everyone!

Wow, its hard to believe that I posted only a week ago! It seems like a LOT longer!

I'm still keeping really busy with work, school, and markets. This is just a short post to let you all know what I've been up to. Sorry, no pictures! :-(

This is just a rough draft of what I've been doing:

I have orchestra and piano lessons on Monday, and that always takes a big chunk out of the day. The rest of the day is spent preparing for market on Tuesday and putting together our 40-some CSA's.

I've been going to markets on every Tuesday and Saturday now since Lydia started school again and couldn't go on Tuesdays. So I'm in Bethesda all day Tuesday.

Wednesday is one of my favorite days because I just go to Carlisle and deliver CSA's, and go grocery shopping. :-) That's also our day when we put together our NGS (National Geographic Society) and JCC (Jewish Community Center) CSA's. That takes awhile since there are about 90 of them.

Last Thursday I was able to go to a friends house, and that was a lot of fun! It was nice to do something different! Most other Thursdays are spent helping my Dad pick apples, or doing chores outside.

Friday's are the "Prepare-for-market-tomorrow-day." Although that's been getting better since markets are soon over. And of course Saturday is market day.

This past Saturday was miserable since it was POURING and 35 degrees the whole day. Lydia and I braved the cold and did fairly well considering the weather.

Sundays are by far my favorite day, because of church and rest.

So that's what I've been up to all Spring, Summer and Fall. Except busier. :-)

Well, I'll be going now. Hopefully next time I write, it'll be something a little more interesting! :-)

Tips in Cookie-making

As a warning to the wise, I just thought I'd let you know that the next time you are going to make Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, remember to put the sugar in!:-)

My last batch was sugar-free. I tricked Daniel into trying one by saying that they were REALLY good. He just sat there saying that they WERE great, practically choking, because he thought I actually thought they were good....

That was the first time I've done something like that for awhile...well, besides the time that I put Clorox in the milk instead of vinegar...:-D

The Apple Harvest Festival

On Saturday I went to the Apple Harvest Festival in Ardentsville. Its this REALLY HUGE festival which has become really famous on the East Coast. Its always held at the South Mountain fairgrounds which is about 10 minutes from my church. I only went because we had two free tickets given to us by Oliver's Boy Scout Troop. His troop was making and selling Pizza there, so we had to go pick Oliver up after his shift was over.

I managed to get this picture of Oliver in his chef hat. :-)

Oliver and Martha were having a ball looking at all of the antique tractors...I was just bored. :-)

I personally think that the whole festival is overrated. There were probably THOUSANDS of people there though, and I saw car license plates from New Hampshire, NC, and IL!

This "Apple" looks interesting but it looked like something that I should take a picture of. :-)

The Apple Harvest is one of those events that the streets are closed for. It's the equivalent of a HUGE state fair/craft show.

Its always held the first two weekends in October.

Strangely enough, I've lived here my whole life, and that was my first time going to it. It was..... interesting...:-)

Market Yesterday

Yesterday Oliver and I went to market by ourselves. My dad had his market in DC and my Mom went to a market at a community college.

Not only was it my first time at market with Oliver, but it was also my first time driving in rush hour traffic. It went well though....:-)
