Visalia

I had the best time I've had in a while last week...I was asked to go to Visalia CA with two other girls from the school, to judge in a Fine Arts competition.  Of course, I agreed.  I am SO glad I did.  We left campus on Monday afternoon and were gone until Wednesday night.  The church we went to, provided gas money and a hotel room, as well as all of our meals.

The trip up was beautiful.  It was nice to see GREEN again!  :)

The girls kept laughing at me, because I insisted on taking lots of pictures.  But now they're glad I did; because we made so many awesome memories.

This was our hotel room.  I went out and bought popcorn and gummy worms from the dollar tree.  Man, we had a party.  :)

Sarah and I went to breakfast each morning at the hotel.  I'm so glad I got to know this girl!  She's amazing and we had such a good time together.  :)

The three of us are on the right, then two more judges; oddly enough I know their brother, so it was a small world.  :)  And across from us are three girls from the school I went to my freshman year!  So I knew all of them as well!  We had so much fun judging together.  It was amazing.

Those are really all of the pictures that I took.  However, I've got so many memories from that trip in my mind!  The church we went to was smaller and so homey and friendly...reminded me of where I want to serve God someday.  I helped judge the instrumental music; that was so much fun!  There were a lot of really talented kids...

I won't soon forget that trip...or the wonderful friendships that developed as a result.  Thursday morning, I was definitely not ready to start classes again...:)

Happy Easter everyone!  I'm so excited about the services here; I know that they will be amazing.

Hope everyone has a great time with family and friends today and that you all acknowledge that the real reason for "Easter" Sunday is not a bunny, or eggs, or candy, or even honeyed ham (yum!)...but it is all about Jesus Christ who rose from the grave, thus proving He is the only God.  :D

Have a wonderful day!

The best day of Spring Break...

I had the best day ever on Spring break!  I went over to some church members house and we played games, ate snacks and I learned how to knit a scarf!

I love these two ladies so much!

Playing Rummicube for the first time

Knitting for the first time!

I had SUCH a wonderful time....can't wait to do it again!

Coloring Party

The other day I sat outside and watched these birds pecking around looking for food...they were pretty cute.  :)

The other night we celebrated my assistant dorm supervisor's birthday!  There aren't many of us who stayed over us so we had a little party and colored pictures.

Then Amy read us a bedtime story.  :)  It was fun, relaxing and very laid back.  It's been awesome!

You know it's Spring break when...

You know it must be Spring Break when your side of the hallway looks like this at 9 in the morning...

When the lobby looks like this...

When the other hall looks like this...

And when the campus looks like this!

This place is like a ghost town!  I LOVE IT!
It was supposed to be just me and my one roommate in our room over break.  But yesterday she got a call from her mom saying they were coming to pick her up!  So now, I have no roommates.  I've always been a bit of a loner anyway, so I thrive when I'm by myself.  :D

Yesterday I went for a nice long walk around campus...saw these gorgeous trees blooming.  They smell AWFUL...like dead fish...but they look great.  :)

You can't really tell from this picture, but I got extremely sun burnt yesterday...

So far today, I've cleaned our entire room and I did all of my laundry. The window is open, I can feel the breeze, I'm listening to Tim Janis...and life is great!  :)

4 1/2 years

My blog has officially been in existence for 4 1/2 years now.
This is my 300th post and there have been 10,595 views so far.  Pretty crazy how time flies by...

I thought this was funny when I went back and looked at my first 2 posts ever.  What a difference 4 1/2 years can make in a person's life!

I'm looking forward to keeping my blog going.  I started it as a way for others to keep up with me, but now that I'm older, I'm keeping it as more of a memory-keeper for myself.  It's fun to go back and read my posts from when I was 16....

It's weird to think of all the changes that have taken place in my life so far, and I'm looking forward to seeing the future changes as well!

Until later!
Don't stop viewing my blog: there's more to come in the future.  :D

Welcome Spring Break!

After seven full weeks of school and classes, Spring Break began today at noon!

I've been looking forward to this week...I will spend it finishing assignments and also relaxing with friends.  :)

This is a very short post, but I'm sure I will be posting regularly this week, since I will have free time coming out my ears.  :)

Fun times in the Springtime!

Well, life has been great and it JUST got a little bit greater yesterday!
Yesterday I took my last midterm, and after shortened classes on Monday, I will be on SPRING BREAK!  Whooooo!

I've celebrated a little bit early with my roommates the other day.
We went to Wingstop, my favorite place out here.

Then we had a room-party.  Of course, that was interesting too....

Just yesterday I treated my two best senior friends Leslie and Bekah to Red Robin.  I had a great time with them- Just realized that this is my last 2 months with them before they graduate.  :(

The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous!  Every day is 75-85 degrees and sunny.  I've gotten a few sunburns and I'm starting to feel like a real California girl.  haha!  But I'm still really excited to go home to Pennsylvania in just 59 days!~

Fine Arts weekend=RELAXATION!

It is Fine Arts weekend here, which means there are no regular classes for college students!  It's been a great time of catch-up and relaxation.  Yesterday my roommates and I played so many rounds of dutch blitz that my mind started swirling in colors and numbers.  It was fun though...

So for today I have a long work day, but for the most part, I am going to relax and finish a couple of homework projects.

Until later then!

Proof!!!!

Here's the proof!  It DOES get cold in California!
There's a myth flying around that it's sunny and hot all the time in southern California.  Here is the proof that that is false.  Not only did we have SNOW the other day, but Thursday on the way to class, these bushes were covered in ice.  :)

So now that I've solved a mystery, I'll go on to just say that I've been keeping pretty busy lately.  Work always keeps me going and my homework is getting to be stressful at times.  But it's all good because I know I can do it!  I realized that I have not been off campus once time yet this semester, except for work and ministry.  No activities or shopping for me...:)
Today there was an activity to see the sequoia and redwood trees in northern CA.  I went on a similar trip my freshman year, so I thought I may as well stay and get homework done, as well as put in a few hours at my workplace.

Well, that's it for now!
Until later!
